Man's Best Friend - The Labrador    

Labrador was the first animal garden sculpture that I made.  Based on my sister's dogs I progressively refined their image to capture in the sculpture what seems to be the essence of these lovely, loving animals - I called it "Man's Best Friend".  I think of my profile pieces as drawings on the landscape reminding me of drawing with sparkler fireworks against the night sky as a child. Perhaps the chalked figure of the Cerne Giant in Dorset where I grew up has also left his mark on my work!

Labrador is made of steel, powder coated for longevity.  It is offered in black, white or chocolate brown; other colours may be available.  Underneath the sculpture are metal tabs which can be sunk into the ground for stability.
