The Flock consists of two sheep - one with its head raised and the other with its head lowered, grazing. They were particularly interesting to make because of the challenge of representing soft woolly sheep in a garden sculpture made of steel while retaining a sheep's essential character and charm. The farming industry's renowned Moredun Agricultural Research Institute bought two sheep for their Pentland Science Park near Edinburgh so it seems perhaps that I succeeded! They are lovely animals and when standing on a lawn or in a meadow, their calming presence conveys a sense of order and country peacefulness.
The Flock is made of steel, powder coated for longevity. It is normally offered in white but other colours may be available. Underneath the sculpture are metal tabs which can be sunk into the ground for stability. Each sheep can be purchased separately if desired.
